Sezzle is a payment method that increases sales and order volumes by enabling shoppers to “Buy Now, Pay Later” with simple, interest-free installment plans. We break down the total cost of an order into smaller, more manageable installments – most commonly, 4 equal payments, each two weeks apart. Shoppers then pay a fraction of the order upfront, but the funds are transferred to your Sezzle account right away – so you never have to worry about how much shoppers have paid.
Shoppers are always told right away what their initial payment will be, as well as what amounts are due later on and when. Their installments are then automatically scheduled, so they don’t need to worry about logging in and paying a bill before a due date. We cover all fraud and repayment risk, so you can process the order without any worries.
We’re especially popular with younger users – shoppers 18 and older that might not have access to traditional lines of credit.

Sezzle also has a public API for non-platform users. To access our API, merchants do need to still submit an application (which can be done here) so the appropriate API keys can be generated.
We are not compatible with Facebook, GoDaddy, or Weebly at this time. If you’re currently on one of those platforms but wish to offer Sezzle, we recommend looking into some of the platforms that we are compatible with to find one that best suits you!
Our platform operates by charging the merchant a set percentage of each order and a small processing fee. There are absolutely no sign-up or set-up costs!
Upon signing up, the approvals team will let you know what rate applies to your store – the rate is determined by the type of products you offer, how long your store has been in business, as well as other factors.
For merchants, we help fight abandoned carts and give shoppers the confidence and ability to check out today, helping to increase conversion rates. We also collect our fee automatically, so there’s never a worry about paying a monthly bill.
Last but not least, we help by covering all fraud and repayment risk, guaranteeing revenue. We pay merchants upfront, and take on the entire risk associated with the delayed payments! Merchants never have to worry about how much a shopper has paid or when a shopper’s installment plan is due.

At this time, we don’t have an option for in-store checkout. We are hoping to be able to integrate with a physical POS system soon!
However, we have found great success with being available for checkout on the online store for brick-and-mortar shops, through the “in-store pickup” option. If a customer was in-store and wanted to check out with Sezzle, they could check out online through your site, select in-store pickup, and check out online using Sezzle. Shoppers can then pick up their merchandise right there in the store. Please work with your e-commerce platform to set up in-store pickup as a shipping method, should you like!
Whether you have two entirely separate stores or a store that’s on multiple platforms (like Shopify and CommentSold) we do need you to submit separate applications for each of your stores. Once you have one store approved, you can simply log into your account and select “Add New Store” on the bottom left to tie your stores to one Sezzle account.
This process helps ensure a great experience for our shoppers, as they will correctly see their orders and which store they came from. This also ensures you get properly paid out for all the orders you process. We’ll generate you specific install instructions and API keys for any and all sites, so you can make sure everything is seamlessly installed.
Additionally, you’re able to set up the same bank account to receive funds for multiple Sezzle accounts.
We transfer the funds from orders to your Sezzle account when orders are placed. The date those funds are sent to your bank account depends on your specific application – the most common settlement period is 3 business days. You can always clearly track the dates your settlements will occur within your dashboard on the “Settlements” tab.
We combine orders with the same settlement date into one settlement, so orders placed on the same day will be settled on the same day. Often, orders placed on a Saturday and Sunday will also be combined into one settlement as well. The total settlement amount is equal to the total of the orders, less any Sezzle fees.
You can view all upcoming settlements by logging in to your account and selecting “Settlements” on the left. You’ll then be shown all your pending settlements, with the dates and amounts clearly listed. If you select a settlement, it will show all orders that are part of that settlement. If you select the “Processed” tab, you will be able to see all settlements that have been fully processed, and you can select a settlement to see all orders that were part of that settlement.
You should also check out your “Withdrawal Account” tab for additional information – this tab will tell you the final amount sent to your bank account, factoring in things like refunds or currency conversion fees. For example, you might have a $300 settlement from the weekend, but a $25 refund was issued, leaving a total of $275 transferred to your bank account.
Note: If you haven’t set up your bank account, your funds will not be sent to your bank account. To make sure your bank account is set up, please follow the instructions here.
We also offer an interest-bearing account in addition to our automatic deposit plan! Once you’ve been approved, you’ll be able to learn more about the benefits and perks of this program. Our fee is listed in the Merchant Agreement that is signed upon applying with Sezzle. If for some reason a different fee rate applies to your store, our approvals team will let you know your specific rate. Our fee covers all fraud and repayment risk, as well as the cost of processing all four installments for the shopper.
You can see the total fees deducted from your orders right on the “Orders” page – it’s clearly shown on all orders. We automatically deduct the fee when we process the order, so you never have to worry about paying us back or sending in a bill at the end of the month!
If you haven’t received your funds as expected, please first start by checking that your bank account is linked and verified. If no bank account is connected and verified, no funds will be deposited. To check, log in and select “Bank Accounts” on the left-hand side. Ensure there is an account listed, and make sure that it has “Verified” in blue on the account. Note: International merchants do not need to verify their account at this time.
If no bank account is listed, select “Add Bank” to connect your bank account. We’ll then send two micro-deposits within a matter of business days. You’ll then be able to verify the account once those have posted.
If the bank account listed is not yet verified, select “Verify Account” and enter the amounts of the micro-deposits we’ve deposited to verify the account. If you can’t find the amounts within your bank statement, we recommend deleting and re-adding your bank account information, so the new micro-deposits will be sent.
Once that’s complete, or if you are an international merchant, please utilize the table at the top of the page to set up the account to receive funds. If an account is not set up to receive funds, we will not be able to send your funds to you.
If your bank account is connected, please navigate to your “Settlements” page. This will tell you the exact amount and date you should expect to see your funds transferred to your bank account. Selecting the “Processed” tab will show you all of the settlements we have fully processed for you. This page will also note if those funds are part of the “Standard” or “Interest” program – funds that have processed and have a type of “Interest” are ones you will need to manually withdraw.
If you see the date listed has passed, the type is “Standard,” and you haven’t received your funds, please reach out to us directly by using the “Submit a Request” link at the top of this page. If the type is “Interest,” please manually withdraw those funds to your account (or leave them in to earn some money).
Note: If you received funds, but the amount isn’t what you expected, please look at your “Withdrawal Account” page – this will detail any adjustments (like refunds or referral bonuses) that may have impacted your final deposit amount.
